01
The child reads too.
Reading Hour is not only an adult reading to a child. We take turns page by page, so the child reads aloud, practises pronunciation, checks unfamiliar words and talks about the story in English.
02
Why a home visit?
Reading Hours usually take place at the child’s home in Tokyo, removing the trip to a classroom and making it easy to use familiar books. We ask for the nearest station and confirm each location individually.
03
A genuine English-speaking hour.
The reader is a British English speaker and may not speak Japanese. Pictures, gestures and simple language support beginners at a slower pace, while creating a real reason to communicate in English.
